Chef Mytro

Executive Chef Matthew Mytro brings to Paladar a cooking and menu planning style that is focused on creativity while maintaining approachable and balanced selections. His travels have taken him through an array of cooking styles, from French fine dining to Little Havana’s Cuban cuisine, and he brings this hands-on knowledge to the kitchen.

During menu planning for Paladar, Mytro gained hands-on experience in Nuevo Latino cuisine with guest chef stints at top-class Latin restaurants including Mark Mendez’ Carnivale and Douglas Rodriguez’ De La Costa, both in Chicago. The Paladar menu draws heavily on cultural influences from the Latin Caribbean as well as Cuba and the Americas.

His quick ascent as a prominent regional chef has not gone unnoticed. Mytro is a frequent television guest on “Good Company,” a morning show on Cleveland’s NBC affiliate, and Boulevard Blue has received accolades from Cleveland Magazine and the (Cleveland) Plain Dealer.

Mytro plans to introduce Clevelanders to Nuevo Latino cuisine at Paladar using ingredients and produce originating from Latin cultural regions and by offering selections of Latin comfort food to provide an authentic experience alongside creative interpretations of traditional dishes.
